Deficit found in license proposal prompts changes

The Lompoc City Council faces an $11 311 revenue deficit in the current business license tax proposal. 89 killed in crash of light plane and Allegheny jetliner

An Indiana tragedy unfolded as a Piper Cherokee struck the tail of an Allegheny DC9 near Indianapolis Weir-Cook Airport. Cease-fire Ends Amid Quiet Aftermath in Vietnam

Final rites for Dirksen held in Washington

Thousands attended the Capitol and National Presbyterian Church funeral for Everett Dirksen, with President Nixon present. Dirksen, 73, died Sunday and will be buried in Pekin, Illinois. The Senate adjourned as 99 members attended, and services avoided media coverage per the family's request.
