A University of Arkansas student recounts a mass murder at the Basore family reunion near Mount Olive Arkansas. An armed assailant killed six people including George Basore Sr Wilma Basore and George Basore Jr and killed herself after wounding Chris Basore. Kris Anderson and others escaped to a nearby farmhouse and called police. An autopsy and investigation followed with the weapon identified as a 9 millimeter pistol.

Shootout at Jenner Bar Sparks Labor Day Weekend Violence

About 200 motorcyclists gathered in Jenner Sonoma County for Labor Day weekend. A shootout at the Jenner by the Sea Bar left a bartender wounded and two riders injured. Jerry Burg owner of the bar was wounded and taken to Santa Rosa General Hospital. One rider remained in critical condition. Deputies questioned motorcyclists in the Russian Gulch area before releasing them.
