Drought Strains Baja California Agriculture and City Water

Baja California faces severe water shortages since the 1920s with this year’s drought threatening wheat and barley on coastal ranches from south of Tijuana to the state’s tip. Estimated losses reach $200,000 with loans repayable at only 30 percent in Ensenada, as 1,328 acres of wheat and 3,1786 acres of barley are destroyed. Coastal areas will receive relief grain from Mexicali while wells near La Mision dry up, restricting new water drilling and stressing Tijuana’s growing needs.

He warns popular science claims risk political manipulation and notes diversity of fossil interpretations and that most human evolution occurred before agriculture. He adds that sex differences cannot be tied to inherited dominance and observes ancient lifespans averaged around 30.
