State park price cuts mark 50th anniversary
State park system marks its 50th with two reduced rate permits valid rest of 1977 and all of 1978. A day use permit drops to 10 dollars and a combined day use and boat launch permit falls to 20 dollars, replacing higher daily fees at parks with boating. A 20 dollar off season camping ticket book offers ten first come nights. Mail or in person orders available.

Santa Ynez Valley Hospital Auxiliary Accepts Nominees
The Santa Ynez Valley Hospital Auxiliary reviewed officer nominees for the coming year at its October meeting. Martha Shelton was named president with Mildred Williams and Amy Grossholz as vice presidents, Martyn Frazier as recording secretary, Almeta Taylor as corresponding secretary, Myrtle Bornholt as treasurer, and Marie Jaeger and Jean Chase as new directors. Election is set for December 1 due to the annual ball on November 5. A Christmas bazaar for members was planned, with unsold items going to the thrift shop or hospital. The evening featured a slide talk by Mrs. Salley Czarnecki of the Visiting Nurse Services. A board meeting is scheduled for November 8 at Sue Vaughn’s home.
