The Citizens Committee for Yes on El Capitan Proposition A reports receipts of 38325 and expenditures of 29619 for October filings. Projections suggest up to 50000 may be spent to support Proposition A, far exceeding the county's first referendum two years ago. The General Plan committee based in Santa Barbara reports 2907 received and 2851 spent in October. Final reports are due by December 3 and after the election.

Funeral services for Rose Hammond Smith held in two states
Mrs. Rose Hammond Smith, 70, died yesterday morning at Lompoc District Hospital. Funeral services are tonight at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lompoc with Rev. Elwood Marvin officiating. Services will also be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Kalispell, Montana, followed by interment at Conrad Memorial Cemetery. She was born August 12, 1900 in Albany, New York and lived in Lompoc. Survivors include four daughters Mary Ann Mateka, Shirley Butterfield, Pegge McCabe, Phyllis Frank. a son Charles R. Smith Jr.. 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Local arrangements are by McPeek Family Mortuary.
