The Santa Ynez Valley seniors are invited to a 3 p.m. session with Congressman Lagomarsino at the Veterans Memorial Building in Solvang to discuss economic issues and low cost housing. The event includes staff input and community concerns.
The County Planning Commission unanimously approved plans to add four tennis courts at Alisal Ranch south of Solvang. Commissioners expressed concerns over landscaping and irrigation conditions, while ranch owner Palmer Jackson and several supporters argued the rules were excessive. More than 150 inspectors and election staff jammed the County Admin Building hearing room to gather final guidance and supplies from County Clerk Recorder Howard Menzel. Officials said the Santa Maria Valley Lompoc Valley Santa Ynez Valley and North County sessions will follow this week with ballot bags ballots and other election day necessities distributed.
