Tito Receives Red Carpet Welcome From Nixon in Washington

President Nixon greeted Yugoslavia's Tito with a ceremonial red carpet arrival on the White House South Lawn. An unscheduled fog briefly disrupted plans for helicopter arrival from Camp David but full honors proceeded with herald trumpets and the Marine Band. Court Line orders five Tristar airbuses from Lockheed

Lockheed announces a 48 million deal to supply five 400 passenger Tristar aircraft to Court Line Aviation, a British charter carrier. Planning panel delays Vandenberg Village map over water quality

Retired Air Force captain W M Harris persuaded the County Planning Commission to defer action on a 41 lot residential tract west of the Vandenberg Village golf course for reappraisal by the Subdivision Committee. Oil firms lose tax cut appeals in Santa Barbara County

Seven major oil companies including Atlantic Richfield Humble Phillips Shell Signal Standard and Union Oil lost appeals against property tax assessments by the Santa Barbara County assessor. Three Men Arrested in Lompoc Forgery Case

Three men, Dennis G. Marzion 21 Ronald R. Riola 22 and Gregory J. Elliott 23, were jailed on forgery and conspiracy charges over a stolen payroll check. Bail set at 8120 each with holds for Marzion and Riola. The trio allegedly tried to cash a 196 dollar Tri Pacer OTP check at a local store after a supermarket pursuit.
