Brown calls charge untrue in tax measure enforcement dispute

Secretary of State Edmund G Brown Jr denied charges he enforcement selectively of the campaign reporting law tied to Ronald Reagan's tax ceiling initiative. Campaign manager Mike Deaver accused Brown of bias while Brown and deputy Tom Quinn said the office pursues complete reports from both sides. Deaver cited groups facing selective enforcement including Moretti staff and various California Democratic organizations.

California dairies face trouble from high feed costs

Sacramento UPI reports that steep feed prices threaten California dairy farmers this winter and could push milk prices up for shoppers. Jay Gould of the League of California Milk Producers warns of herd culling and delayed replacements, potentially reducing milk output while keeping shelves stocked. He notes hay rose from 45 to 85 dollars a ton, and adds a 10 cent per gallon price rise was granted last week under the state Milk Stabilization Act.

Skylab 3 launch at risk after tank damage and delay hope
