County Hopes to Cut Positions to Ease Salary Increase

County votes to add eight farmland preserves near Guadalupe
The County Planning Commission recommended eight new agricultural preserves in the Guadalupe and Santa Maria area. Adeline Marelli leases 5,512 acres between Guadalupe and Vandenberg AFB from Eugene LeRoy for the Guadalupe Dunes preserve. The land includes 5,512 acres of non-prime farmland and 500 acres of wasteland with a total assessed value of 208,680 dollars. Acreage in planned preserves could reach about 300,000 acres countywide.
