Scott Coe of Lompoc established a new freshmen course record by winning the frosh race in the Dos Pueblos Invitational with a 10 58. Cabrillo Conquistadores led by Terry Beaver and Tommy LaBand took the frosh title while Lompoc finished fifth. Lompoc frosh football beat Dos Pueblos 13 12 to move to 2 1.

Hancock Bulldogs Fall In Western State Opener At Moorpark

The Hancock Bulldogs were routed 33 to 6 by the Moorpark Raiders in a Western State Conference opener. Moorpark’s Johnny Taylor rushed for 175 yards on 27 carries while Hancock managed 66 ground yards and a 5-for-30 passing effort from Lee Brownell and Rick Mesa. Hancock heads to Glendale next Saturday for a 6:30 p.m. game.
