Deaths in Highway 1 crash prompt investigation
Deputies probe the deaths of three people whose bodies were found in a wrecked 1969 maroon Chevrolet Corvair off Highway 1 south of Lompoc. Victims identified as Leon Scott Jr and Sheila Scott of Santa Barbara area and a third man, possibly a hitchhiker. Car left the road, airborne about 200 feet. Nearby accident on H Street caused minor injuries and a drunken driving arrest. A Goleta dune buggy fatality near Pismo Beach and locals harvest walnuts with riverbed recreation gains noted.
