Santa Ynez Council Allocates Funds for 4-H Trip and Local Programs
The Santa Ynez Valley Coordinating Council voted to give 600 to the Santa Barbara County 4 H Council to help send seven 4 H members to Washington D C. The 4 H Council will cover 1 400 of the cost and the youths will raise a similar amount. The group also approved 50 for Santa Ynez Valley High School student body officers to offset costs from a summer workshop in Santa Barbara and set 35 cents ADA for Halloween parties, a 10 cent increase. Other actions include reviewing the constitutional setup to reestablish corporation status and exploring a veterans memorial building marquee in Solvang.

Community action events and senior center fund drive
Solvang hosts a free blood pressure clinic next Monday from 12 30 to 3 p.m at the Veterans Memorial Building. Transportation is available by calling the center. Reverend Ronald D. Holcomb and Mildred will present slides from England and Scotland this Sunday at 4 p.m. at Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Church. A Santa Ynez Valley Farm Bureau luncheon next Tuesday at noon at Red Barn Restaurant will discuss water needs and importation. An autumn fashion show by Solvang seniors drew 71 attendees at Alisal Guest Ranch with attire from Smart Shop Solvang.
