Murphy hints VAFB to get space shuttle

Egypt to name successor to Nasser this week likely

Nixon Ends nine day European tour in Ireland visit

Communists Step Up Attacks Across South Vietnam and Cambodia

Government spokesmen report a rapid increase in Communist operations in the Central Provinces of South Vietnam with deadly raids on a funeral, a restaurant, and a Saigon residence killing 27. In Cambodia Viet Cong sapper forces attacked a garrison on Route 4, destroyed several facilities, and left blood trails indicating wounded enemies. Sand Word Help Saves Man from Isolated Island

Charles W. Baird of Santa Barbara, stranded four days on San Miguel Island after his Sea Mistress failed, scratched help in the sand and fired distress flares. A Coast Guard helicopter spotted the signals and rescued him after locating the fire and his waving shirt.
