Earle E. Sweetland 54 retired Air Force colonel was appointed executive manager of the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce by the board at a special meeting. He succeeds Ralph Patey who resigned for a Tucson newspaper post. Sweetland starts immediately and was earlier Flower Festival general chairman for 1972. He retired from Vandenberg AFB in 1970 after 30 years service and formerly commanded there from 1966 to 1970. He and his wife Daisy live at 1320 Onstott Rd with their son and daughter.
