Women’s Assn plans 11th holiday bazaar in Solvang

The Rev. Charles H. Stacy of Carmel is named the new rector of St. Mark's in the Valley Episcopal Church and will begin his duties on Sunday December 19. Stacy, currently curate at All Saints Episcopal Church in Carmel, is married with two children.

Coordinating Council approves three youth funding grants
The Santa Ynez Valley Coordinating Council voted to pay 132 for a public liability insurance premium for the Junior Rifle Club at Santa Ynez Valley High School. It approved 1000 to buy uniforms for Pee Wee Basketball League players and 500 to the American Field Service for valley students going abroad. It may install a marquee on the Veterans Memorial Building. The council, formed in 1948, raises funds from an annual queen contest held during the July 4th celebration.
