Clarification of density shift draws planning debate

County Planning Director Britt A. Johnson will draft a clarification by December 1 on an Nov. 17 8 0 planning commission vote that shifts density ratios from net to gross acreage under the General Plan. Critics fear higher development on the South Coast while supporters say impact may be less severe. the draft goes to the Board of Supervisors for review before finalization.

Reagan selects Anderson to attend White House Aging Conference

Lompoc recreation chief Jack Anderson chosen by Gov. Reagan to represent California at the White House Conference on Aging in Washington D C from November 28 to December 2. State to cover expenses. Delegates exceed 3,400 to discuss housing health education recreation transportation and nutrition.

Filming Set for Montecito Locations with County Approval

Universal City Studios plans a December shoot at two Montecito properties, the Bliss Estate at 300 Hot Springs Rd and the Warren Austin home at 2549 Sycamore Canyon Rd, portraying Joseph Cotton and Olivia de Havilland. About 65 Los Angeles crew and 15 trucks are expected, with filming from Dec 6 to 15, 7am to 8pm on most days.

Dorothy L. Williams died this morning at Lompoc District Hospital and funeral services are pending at McPeek Family Mortuary. Richard Arnold Harmon, a retired Army Master Sergeant and former American Legion 211 leader, died yesterday. services Monday at McPeek Family Mortuary with full military honors at Evergreen Cemetery. He resided in Lompoc 21 years and is survived by his wife Thelma, a son Robert Shaw, and five foster daughters.

Two women convicted in shoplifting cases in Lompoc

MARCIA Ann Greene and Eleanor Ziga Torres were fined $125 each after separate shoplifting convictions in Lompoc Justice Court. Greene arrested Nov. 18 and Torres on Nov. 7. 30 day jail terms were suspended for two years.

Santa to arrive in Lompoc for Children's Christmas Parade

The Young America Jaycees float will carry Santa Claus along H Street tomorrow morning in a 10 AM parade starting in the north business district.
