Hearing set for new oil ordinance in county

Worst day on Wall Street sparked by oil crisis

UPI reports Wall Street suffered its worst day in 11 years as oil worries battered markets. The Dow fell 28.67 to 862.66, the largest drop since May 1962, while the S P 500 slid 3.17 to 100.71 and NYSE share prices dropped sharply.

Beautification Commission adjourns meeting for lack of quorum

The Beautification Commission meeting at City Hall last night was adjourned due to no quorum. Absent were W. B. Jamison D. C. Schwark and Sara Adam. Western Regional Alcoholism Council meets Monday at 7 30 p m in Lompoc 401 East Cypress to discuss opening a local alcohol detox unit.
