Legal Question Arises Over Cox Firing Lawfulness

A federal judge agreed to rule if Archibald Coxs firing as special Watergate prosecutor was lawful. Justice Department lawyers will submit arguments by Monday night as Ralph Nader and three lawmakers seek Coxs reinstatement and revival of his office after Bork terminated it on October 20. Government attorneys conceded Cox had not committed extraordinary improprieties and was fired due to Nixon order.
