Vallejo appoints Lompoc chief John Baker as new Fire Chief
Fire Chief John Baker will leave Lompoc this month to become Fire Chief of Vallejo starting December 1. City administrator Gene Wahlers announced the move and said he will review staff and consider an acting chief during the search for a permanent replacement. Baker has led Lompoc since October 16, 1961, after earlier service in Downey and Glendale.
