Pilgrims in crossfire near Da Nang amid Vietnam fighting

In Da Nang area a shrine gathering of about 60 000 Roman Catholics at Pra Kieu hamlet was hit by crossfire between North Vietnamese and South Vietnamese forces. One pilgrim died and ten were wounded. U.S. helicopter gunships attacked, and clashes left dozens of enemy dead. Separately, heavy fighting near a hilltop artillery base in the A Shau valley killed dozens of Communists and wounded many South Vietnamese.

Nixon to Meet Police Chiefs and Sheriffs

President Nixon plans discussions with top police chiefs and sheriffs to search for ways to curb assaults on officers. Water budget to be aired by Lompoc panel

Lompoc Water Commission will discuss the 1971 72 fiscal budget, underground water rights, and a Livestream agreement report by Ken Dawson.
