Duke of Windsor dies in exile in Paris at 77
The former King Edward VIII, who abdicated in 1936 to marry Wallis Warfield Simpson, died in a Paris mansion. Buckingham Palace announced the death at 3:25 p.m. local time after illness believed cancer. His body to be flown to England for lying in state at Windsor Castle and burial near Queen Victoria at Frogmore.
