ARVN Reclaims Most of Snoul After Heavy Cambodian Fighting
Vietnamese troops backed by U S planes and artillery retook most of Snoul in the heaviest clash since the Cambodia offensive began 13 months ago. ARVN says 80 Communists killed. 12 ARVN dead and 61 wounded, with civilians evacuated as air and artillery strikes hit Communist positions. Nearby ARVN forces in A Shau Valley report 47 North Vietnamese killed. U S camp 11 miles south of the DMZ is hit by a mortar barrage wounded several Americans.

A 17 year old boy stabbed himself with a pocketknife rather than surrender to narcotics officers during a raid near Ledbetter Beach. He died after lunging at Officer Warren Logan who pursued Robert W. Roth, a dealer singled out in the county crackdown that netted 41 arrests and seized heroin cocaine hashish marijuana LSD and mescaline.

Deaths ruled murder death by own action in Mission Hills
Sheriff's officials said Ernest Gray Gilbert 41 and Elva 30 were found dead in their garage after a neighbor discovery.
