Water district offers to share surplus for park water needs

Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District proposed Tuesday to share a portion of its 1972-73 surplus entitlement from the Cachuma Project to supply Cachuma Park concessionaires and campsite users as current year water runs short. The plan invites other districts and Santa Barbara to join in a temporary solution by sacrificing surplus allotments. Summerland requests adherence to master contract terms, noting it has no groundwater and cannot cut its Cachuma allotment.
