Santa Ynez alums win top ASB posts at Hancock College
Allan Hancock College elected two Santa Ynez Valley High School alumni to ASB president and vice president. Steven Windh 18 and Mark Olson 19, both Hancock sophomores, became the first alumni pair in this order since 1954. Windh plans agri business study after Hancock. Olson will pursue agricultural engineering at Cal Poly.

Larry Dotz a 17 year old son of Mr and Mrs Edward Dotz of Solvang and a senior at Santa Ynez Valley High School has been assigned to Arica Chile under the American Field Services program for the summer He will study and live with a host family in the Chilean city and return with cultural exchange experience

School board meets tonight to discuss summer program
An adjourned meeting of the College Elementary School District board opens at 8 p.m. at Santa Ynez School after a missed session due to no quorum. The agenda includes the second annual Summer School from June 27 to July 29 in two divisions for non kindergarteners and grades K 3 and 4 through upper grades. The plan excludes present eighth graders. Dotz will study in Arica Chile with the Borgna family from June 13 to late August during winter there.

Health screening clinics for low income kindergartners and Medi Cal children aged 2 to 21 are set for June 23 at Solvang Health Center 1745 Mission Drive from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Appointments required no charge call 937 6365. Park Commission Set Monthly Meeting at Lake Cachuma
County Park Commissioners will hold their monthly session at Lake Cachuma Recreation Hall starting at 10 am with a budget committee briefing at 8:30 am.
