Evacuation in Laos stepped up by U S
UPI reports the United States increased evacuations in Laos with 160 Americans, including wives and children, flown out as Communist forces close in. Legion to sponsor Memorial Day rites at cemetery
Memorial Day services will be held at Lompoc Cemetery Monday at 10 30 a m under American Legion Post 211. The program features Rev Fred Cruse of the Assembly of God Church wreath laying by auxiliary and D A L members a Vandenberg A F B honor guard salute and participation by American Legion Post 12 and World War I Barracks. Public offices banks and many businesses will close for the holiday including Lompoc Library city county and federal offices. The municipal pool will close for classes but open to the public 1 to 5 p m the landfill open 10 a m to 4 p m and law enforcement will be on maximum patrol at 6 p m with extra CHP Lompoc Police and Sheriff forces.
