Massive armed youth arrest ends long Lompoc search
A 14 year old Lompoc youth, Clarke Russell Hendrix, was captured at the Lompoc Shopping Center after a 12 hour manhunt. He fled from a probation office, drew a revolver but dropped it. he had 21 rounds of .22 ammunition. He was charged in juvenile court with assault with a deadly weapon.

Six hurt in weekend traffic crashes including 16 year old
Weekend crashes left six injured. A 16 year old youth, Mark Richard Quesnel, in good condition at Lompoc Hospital after a high speed chase ended with his car down an embankment near Surf Depot. Deputies chased a speeding car on Highway 246 then found it overturned in a ditch.
