Recovery Home seeks more skilled nursing beds in Solvang
Community members backed the Santa Ynez Valley Recovery Residence plan to increase convalescent beds from 34 to 40. Health official Chet Pelton led a review session in Solvang ahead of a state public hearing in early June with a decision expected about mid June. Administrator Jerry McConnell outlined the residence history and noted 98 percent occupancy with a waiting list. Assemblyman Gary Hart’s office urged approval to avoid harming those on the waiting list.
