Laughing Gas Ruse Leads to Fine for Garbageman
In Fareham England Allan Lewis used a trick to obtain nitrous oxide at a dentist and was fined 60 dollars for obtaining an anesthetic dishonestly. The incident is cited by prosecutors as a repeated scheme for the effects of laughing gas. In a separate California probate action Richard M Zahorchak filed for probate of Samuel Palmer Drury's will with a May 23 1974 hearing in Santa Maria.

Nightingale statue feud ends in proposed Solomon split
Los Angeles. The city Arts Commission helped negotiate a cease fire between nursing students from California Hospital Medical Center and County Hospital Medical School over control of a battered Florence Nightingale statue in Lincoln Park. The dispute centered on who would repair and relocate the statue and the commission even floated halving the statue to settle the quarrel.
