Dim prospects for Santa Ynez Valley regional planning commission
A regional planning commission for the Santa Ynez Valley appears unlikely as county officials and valley groups show mixed support. A poll reported eight in favor and eight against with several neutral or undecided, raising concerns over county personnel costs and potential expansion to other areas. Proponents from the Local Agency Formation Commission urged full consideration, while some welcomed it as an alternative to incorporating Solvang.
