Rod and Gun Salmon Notes Port San Luis Fishing Uptick
Port San Luis anglers report stronger salmon fishing with an average of 1.5 fish per rod and daily trips at 6 30 when reservations are made with San Luis Sportfishing. Santa Barbara sees four salmon in the past week, with a 20 pounder the largest. Rockfishing remains strongest with Santa Barbara often posting full limits and red snapper comprising about 75 percent of catches. A rare 60 foot long, 105 pound salmon shark was landed off Dana Point and turned to state researchers for study.
