Shotgun Wedding skit delights Escort Night crowd

The Lompoc Community Woman's Club staged a humorous shotgun wedding skit at the annual Escort Night in the Elks Club banquet room with Rosie MclIntosh as the shy bride and John McAllister as father of the bride. The event drew about 60 members and guests, featured Gents in a Chord Barber Shop Quartet, pantomime to a Bill Cosby tape, and dancing to The Favorites. Decorations included Easter eggs, bunny figurines, and mixed flowers.

Lompoc Girl Named to Whittier College Honor Roll

Janelle P. Stueck, a Lompoc freshman majoring in English at Whittier College, was named to the college honor roll. The event drew guests including local residents and council members. door prizes were awarded to Victor Kolding and Arthur Evans. The Lions Inn luncheon on April 8 will feature Fred M. Judson as entertainment.

Summer Bride Set With Air Force Groom

A summer wedding is planned for Miss Louise Milholland and Alan Michelini. The couple, engaged couple, is announced by families from Santa Maria and Chicago. Miss Milholland, a 1969 graduate from Santa Maria High School and Fay's College of Beauty, works for J C Penney in Santa Maria. Michelini, a 1966 Lane Tech graduate, is an Air Force member at Vandenberg and employed at the Officers Club. They schedule July 4 as their wedding date at Stonehart Studio.

Reserve Auxiliary initiates members

Initiation of new members preceded the March meeting of Fleet Reserve Association Auxiliary. A luncheon on March 27 at the Del Norte Adults Recreation Room, 321 W North Ave, will raise funds to defray installation expenses. The event begins at 12 noon with $1.50 donations and a white elephant gift requested. An original Easter hat contest offers a prize. A garage sale is scheduled for April 24-25 at 312 Amherst Place, hosted by Mrs. Patricia Manning and Mrs. Dorothy Martin.

Vietnam coin in bride's shoe marks wedding at Vandenberg AFB

Miss Cheryl Lee Burlingame and Ray Allen Oberhoff wed March 15 at Vandenberg AFB Chapel 1 before about 60 guests. The bride wore an empire waist Chantilly lace gown with pearls and sequins, a chapel train, and carried a bouquet of May Devour roses and baby's breath. The groom's Texas and Houston family attended, with reception in the NCO Clubhouse. Both graduates and Air Force members, the couple plans a Southern California trip en route to Texas.

Beginners Hoedown Slated Wednesday at Adam School

Yodeling Al Cannon of San Luis Obispo will call the Valley Whirlers Beginner Hoedown on Wednesday March 25 at Adam School 500 West Windsor Santa Maria. Beginners and regulars from Central Coast Square Dance Clubs urged to attend the 24 week level event. Hoedown at 8 p.m. Visitors may watch.

Job's Daughters Bethel 349 staged a busy social season directed by Miss Linda Champion honored queen. A progressive dinner across five members homes featured five courses with hosts Jane Hansen Barbara Elder Ruby Potter Miss Phillips and Stephanie Ferris. The event included a make up class at Masonic Temple and a mother daughter tea in Santa Ynez plus a roast beef dinner and a patriotic candlelight ceremony with Lompoc Masonic Lodge guests.

Historical items welcomed by Society in Lompoc Valley

Lompoc Valley Historical received gifts for display at the Fabing-McKay-Spanne home and Lompoc Museum or for its archives. Donations include a Sudden ranch phototopographical map, early Lompoc High School photos, two Verda Davis Caldwell life manuscripts, Bert Hollister maps, a 1892 Lompoc Grammar School diploma, Walter Spanne’s bottle collection, pantry and sewing items from a Santa Barbara home, and assorted memorabilia from local families.

Rubinsteins Return from Cape Kennedy

Lou and Bebe Rubinstein return from an 11 day stay at Cape Kennedy. En route home they share a three hour family reunion with her parents Mr and Mrs Sam Linet sister Mrs Leonard Stone and his mother Mrs Belle Rubinstein. The Rubinstein children are cared for by Mr and Mrs Charles Hurlbut during the parents absence.
