Santa Ynez Valley High School study notes stronger programs
A fact finding committee compared Santa Ynez Valley High with King City and Wasco high schools. Santa Ynez shows higher student achievement, broader athletics and co curriculars, a superior library, and a larger class offering. All three run similar student teacher ratios, with Santa Ynez stable in enrollment and funding higher via local and federal sources. The report was presented at a special board meeting to about 50 parents and teachers.

Solvang tests sidewalk cleaning by air flow trial
Solvang merchants approve a one month trial of cleaning sidewalks by forced air in a 20 block downtown area from Mission Drive to Fifth Street to Oak and from Alisal Road to Copenhagen Drive. If effective the program may become permanent and parking study goals include bus drop off and memorial building area use. The next meeting is April 21 at 7 30 a m at The Little Mermaid.
