Certificated Employe Council presents salary and fringe benefit demands totaling nearly 5 million for Lompoc Unified School District. Proposals include starting pay 9318 and max 18037, plus reductions in class size and various benefits and program costs.
Opponents of the Lompoc Unified School District plan to close La Mesa and Miguelito schools in the fall request a one year delay. SOS argues no proper public study or plans exist and urges a citizen advisory committee review before any action.
The Valley Medical Group of Lompec denied withholding medical findings from Johns-Manville workers amid union complaints. The group stated no request to hide information was made and no denial of information occurred.
President Ford asked Congress to raise federal outlays to 24.7 billion for scientific research and development in energy defense and space for fiscal 1977, an 11 percent rise from 1976.
