Lompoc High adopts new nominating method for student elections

Lompoc High will use a class delegate system to nominate two candidates per office for next year's student body. Ninety delegates from social studies classes will attend workshops, select nominees, and hear speeches before voting on finalists to appear on the general ballot. Parents are invited to the convention on April 16 in the Little Theater. organizers are Sue Becker, Dave DeGregorio, and Steffan Biggs.

Teen-Time editorial staff appointment noted

Cabrillo Debaters Dominate Thousand Oaks Meet

The Cabrillo team swept to first with 99 sweepstakes points at Thousand Oaks. In A Debate, Ralph Dias and David LaBand won, Tom Adam and Bob Erbe were runner ups. in B Debate Kim Van Goey and April Zeveson won. Individual events saw Tanya Guest win humorous interpretation and Don na Coselman take original oratory. Jo Michel placed in programmed reading and impromptu speaking, Ed Perrazzo was second in expository, with Kriss Houghton finals in the same event. Finalists included David LaBand, Jim Jensen, Ralph Dias, and Mike Hoffman across various categories, as Ventura trailed with 52 points.
