California nursing homes seek $131 million aid rise
The California Association of Health Facilities urged a $131.4 million boost in state aid next year to lift nursing home care above bare survival. Robert Gerst testified at a budget hearing that this would add less than 86 per day per patient, noting 70,000 aged in state care. The current Medi Cal budget is $337.1 million. the association seeks $468.5 million.
