Johns-Manville posthumous claims eyed for survivors

Doctors from the State Department of Health and Santa Barbara County health care services pursue death certificates of Johns-Manville workers to notify survivors about possible Workmen’s Compensation claims for asbestos related diseases. Hancock College votes against negotiating procedures

Allan Hancock Community College faculty voted 752 against using the states new collective bargaining procedures for school employees. The action means teachers will continue informal annual negotiations with the board on salary and benefits. President Walter Conrad said SB 160 will not govern the college, with the law to fully take effect July 1.

Senate votes fund out for low candidates
