Assurances on Goleta gas storage area
Southern California Gas Co officials told a County OEQ hearing the Goleta storage area under the slough and near the airport is sealed from offshore oil seeps and will not raise leakage. They argued the 13.5 million cubic feet capacity is contained in Vaquero sandstone with no offshore seepage risk and cited need for 200 million cubic feet daily more gas to meet peak demand.
