California Senate advances malpractice crisis relief bills
The Senate Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee endorsed SB398 and SB491 to create insurance pools guaranteeing physicians and nurses malpractice protection, sending the bills to the Finance Committee on a 6-0 vote. The measures would take effect upon Gov Brown's signature and run through 1976 for one, with broad industry support.
