Knicks Near East title as Celtics exit playoffs

Royals edge Saints to stay atop county league standings

The San Marcos Royals beat the Santa Maria Saints 5 to 4 in eight innings in Santa Maria. John Kiger delivered a go ahead single in the eighth to drive in Mike Clark. Kiger earned the win while Tim Davis took the loss. Lompoc and San Marcos remain tied for the league lead with Friday’s 7:30 p.m. showdown at Laguna Park.

Brewers Move Seattle Pilots to Milwaukee in AL

The Milwaukee Brewers are poised to join the American League after league officials, led by Joe Cronin, in Milwaukee agreed to relocate the Seattle Pilots for 9.5 million dollars plus 1.5 million working capital. Renewal terms followed a preliminary loan of 650 thousand dollars to Seattle.
