SYCSD to Hear Engineers on Sanitary Plan and River Crossing
Santa Ynez Community Services District directors will hear engineers on a six point plan to fix sanitary problems and provide a Santa Ynez river crossing for Solvang Municipal Improvement District. Bob Flowers of U S Grant and Son and Lynn Hartford of Brown and Caldwell will present the consolidated plan with SMID officials and state and regional water boards in attendance. Completion is set for March 19 with board concurrence sought by March 24 for Santa Ynez and March 25 for SMID.

Dates set for Santa Ines Mission fiesta
The 1976 Old Mission Santa Ines Fiesta is scheduled for August 14 and 15 with Dick Grand as general chairman and Dick Hyland assisting. The two day event on a three acre meadow beside the Mission opens at noon each day featuring games entertainment food tours of the Mission museum and gardens with all proceeds supporting ongoing restoration efforts since the Mission's founding on September 17 1804 as the 19th of 21 California Missions.

School bid opening set for April 14 at Santa Ynez Valley High
District superintendent George B. Smith announced bids for a $2 million campus expansion at Santa Ynez Valley High School will open April 14 at the regular trustees meeting. An addendum to architect specifications allows multiple trademark items or equivalents. The project includes a vocational building a multi purpose building a gym and site improvements.

The Santa Ynez Valley reports a string of local happenings. The Mariner's Club cruise and church potluck occur Thursday at Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Church. Trustees name a new Santa District superintendent by 7:30 p.m. at the school. A family sing fest and a charity farewell for the Solvang Lutheran Home are planned, plus a late March birthday party for residents. Spanish conversation classes begin tonight at Garden House in Solvang, and an art auction to fund health immunization follows Sunday in Solvang. Cattle auction results, Udall campaign organization in the district, and Santa Ynez Valley fire department first aid trainer certifications are also noted.
