Noted violinist Erick Friedman to perform at Lompoc concert

Noted violinist Erick Friedman will headline the Lompoc Community Concert Association season finale at the Lompoc Theater Monday night at 8 15 p m. Admission is by season ticket. Friedman, celebrating his 20th anniversary before the public, has achieved international acclaim with tours in the United States Europe and South America and with RCA Victor recordings winning Grammy nominations.

Women of the Moose hold midwinter conference in Pismo Beach

The annual midwinter conference of Women of the Moose drew 19 local chapter members and attendees from Santa Maria Pismo Beach Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. Mrs Donald Clark and Mrs William Milbourne led welcomes and enrollment ceremonies as prizes were awarded for College of Regents participants. A steak and eggs breakfast fundraiser is set for tomorrow and Lompoc chapter to conduct enrollment ceremonies for Santa Maria Women of the Moose on Tuesday.

Jr High PIA to explore family life

The Family Life Unit at Lompoc Junior High will be discussed at a PTA meeting in the school library on Monday March 10 at 7 30 p m Louise Everett the school nurse will moderate A panel of physical education instructors will explain the course and answer questions Betty Jory Miss Kay Lee Jack Drees and Robert Collette will serve on the panel After the discussion parents may view the films Boy to Man and Girl to Woman The program will run the week of March 24 28 for seventh and eighth graders with films and discussions Afterwards the nominating committee will present a slate of officers and election takes place at the May meeting Refreshments will be served

Harmony theme luncheon by Las Flores Council honors children

Alpha Zeta Chapter of Lompoc hosted a 34 attendee luncheon at Loop's with a Harmony theme and decorations of musical instruments. The program featured From Darkness Into Light, a film by M. E. Van Winkle and Burton Kendal, showing progress in preschool retarded children. Council vice president for balance of 68 69 was Mrs. William Robinson. slate includes Mrs. Kenneth Anderson as vice president and Mrs. Richard Humble as teller. Gifts from each chapter supported a ways and means auction. a door prize record album was donated by Lompoc J C Penney Co. An April 1 decoration workshop for the state convention was announced.

Mrs. Mildred Mundell will present district officers and members. Mrs. Leonard Johnson will host a local grand officer. A luncheon in Santa Maria will entertain grand officers on Sunday.
