Cabrillo students may sign up for a limited 25 extra yearbooks on a first come basis in P-4 with order forms in L-3. March 5 is due. The listing also highlights UCSB summer session for high school juniors and various local scholarships.
Cabrillo’s Sadie Hawkins week proved popular with activities from whipped cream pie stunts to hat day and Juniors Rule! Stomp ’em day. The junior senior assembly featured a cake walk and powder puff game before the 8 to 11:30 p m dance with a hayride and Marryin Sam. Admission is $1 50 with two SB cards or $2 without.
The Cabrillo Speech Team earned 80 sweepstakes points and second place overall at Moorpark College on February 16. Jo Michel won girls impromptu, Bob Erbe won boys impromptu, and Tom Adam with Bob Erbe took open debate third. Other top finishes included Ed Perrazzo with second in expository and third in open original oratory, Dari Short second in girls extemp, Donna Coselman third in girls original oratory, and finalists Marie Griffin expository Randy Strawn Tanya Guest in humorous interpretation.
Karen Duggan serves as Cabrillo student body secretary treasurer and leads the friendship club drill team and pep activities. She moved from Kansas to California as a freshman, excels in academics and leadership, volunteers with Red Cross, Rainbows, and works at Birkholmes Bakery.
