LAFCO delays Alisal annexation plan in Santa Ynez Valley
LAFCO postponed part of a 2,892 acre annexation linking Alisal Ranch to the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District amid ties to a thwarted development proposal. Officials approved annexing a river-adjacent strip while delaying the remaining acreage to the October meeting. The water district and ranch spokesmen said the move would supply water service only, not urban services, and emphasized the area’s dry conditions.
