Red Cross Chapter awards at Solvang meeting
Santa Barbara County Chapter of the American Red Cross elected Colin K. Wilson of Santa Barbara as chairman and re elected him to the Santa Barbara District board of administrators at its Solvang meeting on June 16. He received a special award for outstanding leadership. New officers include Harry Joy vice chairman and Donald R. Nelson treasurer, with Nancy Poultney as secretary.

UCLA commencement honors Lompoc graduate Elizabeth Barnes
Elizabeth Ann Barnes a 1973 Lompoc High School graduate earned a bachelor of arts in political science at UCLA during a large commencement ceremony on the UCLA campus Drake Field hosted 8000 graduates including her. She plans to study at the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale Ariz and is the daughter of Jack and Lois Barnes of 901 N Third St.

Quilt Display Open House Announced for Flower Festival
Colorful quilts old and new will be shown in the Fabing McKay Spanne House during the Flower Festival with two exceptions all quilts debuting this weekend. Open 2 to 5 each day admission by donation. A hand hooked wool area rug by Carmen McIntosh will be shown and raffled at the September 2 Historical Pioneer Societies dinner. Donations for the July 30 Trash and Treasure sale are solicited. Call 736-5044 for details. Society president Earl Calvert and Mrs Calvert attended the Conference of California Historical Societies in San Jose June 16-18 and visited the new Pioneer Museum complex.
