Jalama Ranch origins told by Gordon Davis at Lompoc event
Gordon Davis recounts 30 years at Jalama Ranch with wife Edith Mary arriving in 1940 to a waterless, electrificationless, primitive setup. The 1940 41 winter brought record rains washing out bridges, causing landslides and heavy livestock losses. Post flood, World War II rationing followed as the Davises began adapting to frontier life.
