Court denies Hahn bid to invalidate California primary

The California Supreme Court denied Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn’s petition to invalidate the June primary election. Hahn sought a new Aug. 28 vote, citing 40,000 missing sample ballots and ballot rotation issues. The decision comes without comment, ending the challenge ahead of the general election.

Senate defeats bid to require Congress dice arms sales

The Senate voted 56 to 6 to defeat a proposal by Sen. John Williams to force Congress to approve U S arms sales before any foreign transaction.
