California ALRB urged to appoint unbiased members now
A California resolution calls for the governor to immediately appoint qualified unbiased individuals to the Agricultural Labor Relations Board. The five member panel has been without a quorum since April 19 after a member resigned, and growers say the original appointees favored the United Farm Workers union. Assemblyman Ken Maddy predicts voters will overwhelmingly reject a farm labor initiative tied to the UFW, citing the access rule allowing union organizers onto private property.
