Father’s Day Barbecue at Nojoqui Falls Park
The Santa Ynez Valley Sportsmen's Assn holds its annual barbecue at Nojoqui Falls Park starting at 1 pm. Attendees are asked to bring their own place settings. The Community Action Commission Senior Center in Solvang sponsors a tour at Lucille Nickerson’s home, 463 Odense Drive, Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm with Mrs. Elvera Carver assisting in pouring and refreshments. The Women's Association of the Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Church executive board meets Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Janet Cass’s Buellton home.

Dates announced for the fifth annual Santa Ynez Valley Antique Show and Sale with more than 40 dealers from across the United States. The event runs June 17 to 19 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Solvang, noon to 8 pm on June 17 18 and noon to 6 pm on June 19. Proceeds benefit United Voluntary Services UVS.

Los Olivos survey shows broad support for fire dept and park
Los Olivos Improvement Assn revealed survey results from about 300 forms with 71 returned. Support ranged from 79 percent for a volunteer fire department to 93 percent favoring use of the old school grounds as a county park, while sewer and road views varied. Committeeswere formed to address flood control streets and groundwater and a district insurance rep will discuss fire department rate impacts.

Buellton District Plans Under Highway Sewer Line
Engineers advise boring beneath US Highway 101 north of Highway 246 to serve the north Murray Road area with a new trunk sewer line. Costing about 10,000 dollars for boring, plus 100,000 for the trunk line along Zaca Creek and Murray Road, plans include laterals to parcels. District to prepare plans and bid specs, with property owners to pay pro rata by June 15 and final plans within 60 days.
