Senate Watergate panel questions Nixon milk price rise
Investigators reject Nixon’s explanation for 1971 milk price supports and say large pledges from milk producers influenced the decision. A 359 page staff report notes the $2 million pledge was among the campaign’s top three and that dairy donors gave more to Nixon than to all other 1972 candidates combined. Nixon announced the raise March 25, 1971 after talks with dairy leaders.

Airman at Vandenberg linked to multiple incidents
A 21 year old airman Steve Reginald Hobbs of Barracks 8106 room 27 at Vandenberg Air Force Base is jailed on forcible incident charges with police tying him to two other forcible incidents three burglaries and one incident. Police pursued after a neighbor heard a scream and identified him from a car leaving the scene. The victim named him in the case. Tangled with alleged home invasions involving a secretary and a housewife on March 21 and May 17, plus an assault on a 19 year old Allan Hancock College student on March 16. Burglary charges filed in the three incidents. Weather: low clouds inland, highs near 60 coast to mid 70s inland, Tuesday tides 3.6 and 6.1 feet.
