Abandoned Vandenberg Buildings Sold Off for Reuse
Santa Maria contractor Eli D Arnold sparked a push by Rep Charles Teague to clear WWII era barracks and offices at Vandenberg AFB. Since 1957 about 1,400 wooden structures were demolished, with 250 cut under a 1972 program, as the Air Force planned a Red Horse demolition of sub standard buildings.
